Cornwallis House

Rendall & Wright undertook the sympathetic restoration of this former bank building, a Grade II listed property with a wealth of original character and architectural detail.

The building was carefully stripped back to its bones, allowing the historic fabric to be assessed, repaired and sensitively restored. The original staircase was meticulously refurbished, with sections carefully replaced where necessary, preserving its character and craftsmanship. Traditional flooring, bespoke joinery and carefully selected materials were introduced throughout, creating a considered balance between the building’s heritage and its renewed purpose as a high end holiday let.

The project was completed with the same attention to detail across the interiors. Rendall & Wright created a collection of beautiful handmade soft furnishings and bespoke pieces of furniture, individually designed and crafted to complement the property and enhance its architectural character.

Lindsey considered every element, from the restoration of the original features to the finest interior details. The result is a timeless transformation that celebrates the building’s history while giving it a new sense of life, elegance and purpose.
